Online events
According to the survey, 97 percent of all Germans between the ages of 18 and 74 are regularly active online. Twice as much as ten years ago (2012: 53%). Watching TV is the second most popular leisure activity. It is followed by PC/laptop/tablet usage. Next, social media domains such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snapchat, and Twitter entered the top 10 leisure activities.
Offline Germans
On the other hand, most Germans are also active offline in their spare time. Two out of three citizens spend their time cooking with their spouses. Many like to quietly drink coffee or do nothing. Also, the majority go for a walk or stay in nature at least once a week.
