Commenting on the efforts of the Ministry and industry associations in tourism in the last 2 years as “good teamwork”, AKTOB Y.K President Dr. Erkan Yagci Dr. Yağcı emphasized that “Process Management” is also important in the current time.
AKTOB Sectors Meetings was held at Adalya Elite Hotel in Lara. The guest speaker of the meeting was Sururi Çorabatır, Chairman of TÜROFED Board of Directors.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, AKTOB Board of Directors President Dr. Erkan Yağcı, while revealing what has happened in world and Turkish tourism since the pandemic with data, announced his expectations for 2022 and beyond.
Commenting on the efforts of the Ministry and industry associations in tourism in the last 2 years as “good teamwork”, Dr. Yağcı emphasized that “Process Management” is also important in the current time.
Listing the new period trends and trends in tourism under headings, Dr. Yağcı pointed out that the Safe Tourism Certificate, which was revealed during the Pandemic, is an example of how these trends are created and how they are responded to.
Emphasizing that in 2021, Turkey and Antalya tourism recovered successfully as a result of teamwork and that he looks to 2022 with hope, Dr. Yağcı said that 2019 figures will be approached.
Pointing to the new issues brought by the increasing costs recently, Dr. Yağcı pointed out that the key to sustainable development lies in “market diversification”. On the other hand, saying that there are many changes in the all-inclusive system, products that combine work and vacation, the concept of environmentally friendly “green tourism” and new consumer trends, Dr. Yağcı also emphasized that they will continue to work with “common wisdom and belief” in this process.

Making statements at the meeting, TÜROFED Chairman of the Board of Directors Sururi Çorabatır also mentioned the importance of flight opportunities, unlike Dr.Yağcı. Stating that it is very important to be able to fly planes, Çorabatır emphasized that the flexible approach of the Ministry and its work in harmony with the sector brought great success, and thanked all ministries for their approach to tourism during the pandemic.
Emphasizing that they experienced a process they had never managed before, but learned through teamwork, Çorabatır said that they recovered very well in 2021 and that “changes in mass psychology” would be constantly monitored for the continuation of the pandemic.
Evaluating the performance of the markets in the recent period, Çorabatır said that Antalya, Istanbul and Aegean destinations have started to complement each other.
Emphasizing the importance of climate change, personnel requirements, payment systems, the travel cycle of generations and data reading, Çorabatır revealed that “updates” are needed in the all-inclusive system, which has been successfully implemented.
