The turnover achieved by Turkish hotels in the five-month period of 2022 approached 2019 levels. While the turnover reached 86 percent of 2019 in facilities with operation certificate, it exceeded 2019 by 37 points in facilities with municipal certificate.
Hotel turnovers in Turkey in 2022
According to the estimations made by the Tourism Databank, the tourism statistics center, from the overnight and accommodation data of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in the five-month period of 2022, the turnover obtained in Turkey’s hotels approached the 2019 levels. While the turnover reached 86 percent of 2019 in facilities with operation certificate, it exceeded 2019 by 37 points in facilities with municipal certificate. In 2019, a record year in tourism, the turnover of accommodation facilities was 7.1 billion Euros. In 2022, it reached the level of 6.6 billion Euros.

Tourism Databank estimated five-month turnovers for 2019 and 2022. Accordingly, the turnover of 5-star hotels and holiday villages reached 79 percent of 2019. Turnovers in four- and three-star hotels left 2019 behind by 7-8 points. On the other hand, turnovers in small-scale economic facilities exceeded that of 2019.

Turizmde rekor yıl olan 2019’da konaklama tesislerinin cirosu 7,1 milyar Avro olmuştu. 2022 yılında ise 6,6 milyar Avro seviyesine geldi.
