According to the analysis made by Tourism Databank, the tourism statistics center, hotel overnight stays in leading destinations in the Mediterranean Basin approached 2019 in the 8-month period of 2022, while hotel turnover exceeded 2019. This trend was due to the increase in prices.
Increasing inflation and service production costs were also reflected in hotel prices. Turkey and Greece showed the best performance in the Mediterranean region in terms of overnight stays and turnovers.
