According to the data compiled by the Tourism Databank, the tourism statistics center, from the Spanish National Institute of Statistics (INE), tourist expenditures exceeded 20 percent in 2019, according to the Tourism Expenditure Survey. The average expenditure per tourist was €1,124 in 2022. In the region, the average overnight stay also increased from 5.9 to 6.9.
