Towards Unknown Destinations

Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias announced at the Israel-Greece Conference that the country is changing its tourism strategy to showcase lesser-known destinations and attract foreign investment.

3 years of work

The Minister said that they have been working on the institutional framework for three years to remove age-old bureaucratic barriers, attract large investments and do new quality work.

The Minister pointed out that the interest of large funds from abroad has also increased and the Brown Hotels group, which currently invests in 50 hotels in Greece, is an example of this.

Stating that global multinational companies are currently trying to build or renovate hotels in Greece, also in lesser known or underdeveloped destinations, the minister said, “This is the model we want for this country.”
