International tour holidays increased in 2022
According to the calculation made by the Tourism Databank, the tourism statistics center, from TUIK data, the number of trips abroad from Turkey increased from 0.67 million to 2.7 million in the first half of 2022. The market was 4.4 million in the first half of 2019. In the whole of 2021, 3.4 million people traveled abroad as tour companies and individuals in Turkey. This level was around 14 million in 2019.
Package tour market with holiday agency
On the other hand, the real growth in the outgoing market was experienced in package tours with tour companies before the Pandemic. In this period, with nearly 1.5 million package tours made with a holiday agency, international travels fell below 100 thousand in 2021, while it exceeded 151 thousand in the first half of 2022.
While holiday agencies and individuals traveling abroad spent an average of $550-600 per person before the pandemic, this figure increased to $838 in 2021. In the first half of 2022, it decreased to 661 dollars.
