According to the calculation made by Tourism Databank, the tourism statistics center, from the Facilities Statistics of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the number of hotel beds in hotels with Operational License and Municipality Certificate reached 1,918,000 in August 2022. When the hotels that are in the investment stage are added, the total number of beds has reached 2 million 57 thousand.
Number of hotel beds in provinces
Hotel beds, which were active in Antalya during this period, increased by 38 thousand and exceeded 639 thousand. The total number of hotel beds in Istanbul increased by approximately 63 thousand and exceeded 274 thousand.
On the other hand, Muğla, which exceeded 241 thousand in the number of beds, became the province with the highest increase in the number of beds with 65 thousand. Again, the number of hotel beds in Izmir, one of the centers of the Aegean region, has increased by 27 thousand in the last year and approached 79 thousand. The number of beds in Aydın also increased by around 20 thousand and exceeded 60 thousand.
In the last year, in the increase in the number of beds; Some 25 cities such as Çanakkale, Bursa, Trabzon, Sakarya, Samsun, Eskişehir and Toket reached high rates.
