The world’s largest accommodation chains recorded growth in the first quarter of 2022. Chain hotels, which increased their revenues, also accelerated their new hotel investments, which slowed down during the pandemic period. The number of active hotels and rooms of the groups also increased.

According to the data compiled by Turizmdatabank; among these groups, Marriott Hotels took the first place with 1.5 million rooms, followed by the Hilton group with 1 million. IHG was included in the first 5 groups with 885 thousand rooms. Wyndham and Accor groups followed with 813 thousand and 778 thousand rooms.
New hotels of groups
These groups also continue to invest in new hotels. Marriott Hotels will continue to grow with new rooms based on 500 thousand, Hilton 400 thousand, IHG 300 thousand, Wyndham and Accor 200 thousand each.
