In July 2022, the occupancy rate of hotels with operating certificates in İzmir increased to 66%. The occupancy rate in hotels with municipal certificates reached around 56%.

According to the data compiled by Turizmdatabank from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s accommodation statistics, in July 2022, the occupancy rate in hotels with operating licenses in Izmir rose to 66.33%. The occupancy rate in hotels with municipal certificates has reached around 55.86%.
Occupancy by 2019
In the same month of 2019, the occupancy rate in hotels with operation certificates in Izmir was 79.53%. It was 62.83% in hotels with municipality certificates.
In July 2022, occupancy rates in 5-star hotels fell by 87.8%, 13 points behind 2019. 4-star hotels are also about 5 points below 2019 with 73.3% occupancy. 3-star hotels are 3 points behind 2019 with 52.73%. Occupancy rates in thermal 5 and 4 star hotels remained below 2019.
