According to the data compiled by Turizmdatabank from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s accommodation statistics, in July 2022, the occupancy rate in hotels with operating licenses in Izmir rose to 71.5%. The occupancy rate in hotels with municipal certificates reached 63.6%.

Occupancy by 2019

In the same month of 2019, the occupancy rate in hotels with operation certificates in Izmir was 85.32%. It was 64.5% in hotels with municipality certificates.
In 2022, occupancy rates in 5-star hotels fell by 93.3%, 13 points back from 2019. 4-star hotels are also about 3 points below 2019 with 77% occupancy. 3-star hotels are 3 points behind 2019 with 62%. Occupancy rates in thermal 5 and 4 star hotels were 4-5 points below 2019.
