According to the data compiled by the Tourism Databank, the tourism statistics center, from the accommodation statistics of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in the 7-month period of 2022, the number of foreign tourist hotel overnight stays in Turkey increased by 2.7 million, approaching 73 million.
Tourist overnight stay according to 2019
Compared to 2019, Istanbul provided the biggest improvement in the increase in overnight stays with 3.26 million. Trabzon, Muğla, Aydın, İzmir, Van, Mersin and Kocaeli followed it. Tourist overnight stays in Antalya, Nevşehir, Balıkesir, Karabük Ankara and Denizli remained below 2019.
On the other hand, citizens’ overnight stays in hotels increased by 7 million to reach 50 million. Here, too, the highest developments; It happened in Antalya, Istanbul and Muğla.
