According to the data compiled by Turizmdatabank from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s accommodation statistics, in August 2022, the occupancy rate in hotels with operating licenses in Istanbul rose to 84%. The occupancy rate in hotels with municipal certificates reached around 76%.

Occupancy by 2019

In the same month of 2019, the occupancy rate in hotels with operation certificates in Istanbul was 82.81%. It was 70.5% in hotels with municipality certificates.
In 2022, the occupancy rate in 5-star hotels reached 2019 with 81%. 4-star hotels are also about 1 point below 2019 with 87.7% occupancy. 3-star hotels passed 2019 by 5 points with 81%. Occupancy rates in hostels, apartments, private and boutique hotels are at par with 2019 and above.
