Housing sales to foreigners

According to TUIK, foreigners’ housing purchases in Turkey increased by 58% in April 2022 and exceeded 6.5 thousand. Last year, house sales to foreigners were around 4,000. In the 4-month period, housing purchases exceeded 21 thousands from 14 thousands.

Most residential areas

In the January-April period of 2022, Iran took the first place in housing sales to foreigners with 3161 houses, followed by Russia with 2687 and Iraq with 2601. They followed by Germany, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan.

Housing sales in provinces

According to the cities, Istanbul took the first place with 8,538 housing sales. Antalya followed Istanbul with 5417 residences. They followed by Ankara, Mersin, Bursa, Yalova and Izmir. Housing purchases by foreigners in Antalya increased by 97% compared to last year. İzmir, Samsun and Sakarya also recorded growth exceeding 100%.

821 million Dollar

According to the estimations of Turizmdatabank; Housing purchases by foreigners in Turkey in 4 months created a trade of 867 million Dollars. It was $837 million in the same period last year.

On the other hand, in 2020 and 2021, foreigners bought 2.3 and 3.7 billion Dollars of housing, respectively.
