The number of hotel nights in Spain has been announced.

According to the data compiled by the Tourism Databank, which specializes in tourism statistics and analysis, from INE, the total number of overnight stays in hotel businesses in Spain exceeded 29.8 million in May. The number of foreigners coming from abroad is over 19.8 million. Compared to 2019, foreign overnight stays are still below 22.5 million.

Occupancy and income

Hotel occupancy rate was 54.9% in May. On the other hand, the average daily turnover (ADR) of hotels was 95.3 Euros in May. Average daily revenue per current room (RevPAR) reached 60.9 Euros.

In the January-May period, the total number of foreign overnight stays in its businesses was 58.9 million, remaining below the 2019 level of 71.9 million. Compared to 2019, the biggest declines were experienced in 4 and 3 star hotels. While the loss was less in 5-star hotels, overnight stays reached 92% of 2019. Recovery was 80% in other categories.
