Income from tourism was 35 billion dollars

According to the analysis made by the Tourism Databank, the tourism statistics center, from the TUIK data, Turkey’s tourism income, which was announced by the TUIK with the new revised figures, increased by 68% in the 9-month period of 2022, increasing from 20 billion to 35 billion dollars. Compared to 2019, it increased by 21.7%.
The new data emerged with the cooperation of the Turkish Statistical Institute, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Council of Higher Education, the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey and the Interbank Card Center; increased tourism revenues by about 20% on average.

They come from foreign and citizen tourists

Thus, tourism revenue increased from 20 billion to 35 billion dollars in total in the 9-month period, and the income from foreigners increased from 16.6 billion to 29.7 billion dollars. The income left by citizen tourists increased from 4.2 billion to 5.3 billion dollars.
