Tourism Statistics Center Tourism Databank’ın compiled from TurkStat data, according to information, in the January-September period of 2022, 36.3 million people residing in the country went on travel. It was behind 51 million of 2019.

Travel expenditure

In this period, citizens tourists travel expenditures increased to TL 95.2 billion. In 2019, a total of 41 mliar TL was spent. This increase was caused by rising domestic prices (inflation). Compared to 2019, the nominal increase was 132 %, while the real increase was 3.5 %.
With the effect of price increases, spending per travel increased from 628 TL to 2184 TL.

Domestic Nights

During this period, those who traveled made a total of 43.6 million trips. With an average of 8.4 overnights, 367 million overnights were held. In 2019 there was 546 million overnights.
The nights in hotels exceed 30 million, while 37.7 million of 2019 were left below.
