SPAIN IS LOOKING FOR SOLUTIONS FOR TOURİSTIC HOUSES
In Spain, the mayors of Madrid and Sevilla are looking for a solution for the touristic accommodation of the houses that have increased in recent years, in a meeting they organized. “Given the growth it has experienced, I would like to limit the housing for tourist use,” said the mayor of Seville.
While the mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, says “There is no problem of coexistence between residents and visitors in Madrid”, Gabriel Escarrer also believes that the Spanish Government, led by the EU, should lead tourist rental arrangements.
The Urbantur study published by Exceltur revealed greater sensitivity to the impacts, though inconsistent, of the urban tourist-occupied residences and residents’ lives, as reflected in the development of local urban regulations for regulation.
